Title:
US Sesquicentennial Liberty Bell
Description:
One of the highlights of the 1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition in Philadelphia was a large scale replica of the Liberty Bell, which was also the chosen symbol for the expo in marketing and design materials. Eighty feet tall and covered with 26,000 light bulbs, the giant structure spanned Broad Street and served as an illuminated gateway to the event.

This commemorative Liberty Bell is mounted on a wooden base with an inset collector's coin honor-ing the national sesquicentennial. Comprised of moving parts, the bell still rings today.
