The Allen County Sesquicentennial Committee, in honor of the state sesquicentennial, commissioned this commemorative Fort Wayne-Allen County license plate. In 1966, it sold for $1.25, which would be $9.31 today. The Allen County-Fort Wayne Historical Society sold similar commemorative license plates at the museum for only $1.00, encouraging the public to "be sure you are a patriotic Hoosier on your vacation this year by displaying an official state Sesquicentennial License Plate."
