Title:
Bishop's Chair
Description:
Writer, educator, priest and speaker, John F. Noll was ordained as a priest at the young age of twenty-three and made it his mission to share the Catholic faith with a wide audience. From writing early pamphlets to founding of Our Sunday Visitor, a Catholic English language publication, Noll did indeed spread the word. In 1925, he was appointed the fifth Bishop of Fort Wayne and was granted the honorary title of Archbishop in 1953. The chair was used by Bishop Noll from 1953 to 1956. It was originally located in the Crosier Center on Wallen Road, a seminary operated by the Crosier Fathers from 1938 to 1974.
